We love to read books to our kids, and the Dr. Seuss books are some of our favorites. March 2 is Theodor Geisel’s (aka Dr. Seuss) birthday. To celebrate, I planned a full morning of games, crafts, and special treats to honor Dr. Seuss’ legacy for children. I read several Dr. Seuss books to my kids. Green Eggs and Ham is currently their favorite Dr. Seuss book, and that Sam character NEVER gives up. My kids always ask for green eggs!
We played Cat in The Hat Tic Tac Toe, we did maze worksheets, colored and cut out our very own red and white tall cat hats. For a snack I cut up pieces of banana and strawberries, and let my kids put them on a stick like the colors of the cat’s hat. It was messy, but fun was had by all.
Want to celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday? There are many resources on the Internet. Here are some links where I got my ideas and worksheets. Make sure when you go to print in Adobe Reader you set to “fit to page” and deselect double-sided printing.
