I hope you enjoyed yesterday’s post on my “Rainbow Pot O’Gold Kid’s Breakfast“. Today’s post is about celebrating St. Patrick’s Day through crafting, painting, and worksheets.
I love to craft with my kids because it is fun to watch them learn, and I am also not afraid to make or clean up a mess. My son Tristan loves to design on worksheets, and there are hundreds of different -St. Patrick’s Day worksheets available online. We do many dot-to-dot for one-to-one correspondence, tracing, and letter and number recognition. Counting worksheets are another big hit in our house. We circled and counted clovers, rainbows, and pots of gold.
If you are not afraid of paint, then squeeze some onto a paper or plastic plate, and dip your kids’ fingers and hand palms to make four hand prints that resemble a four leaf clover. Your kids will love this easy craft, and they also will love to play with the soap in the sink afterwards.
My kids love to dress up and pretend to be someone they are not. So, I created a leprechaun mask. All you need is a sheet of green and orange construction paper, a piece of card stock paper, scissors, glue sticks, popsicle stick, and a marker. This craft is great to practice cutting. First draw a hat on the green paper, and let your child cut it out. Then draw lines one to two inches apart to make the beard, and cut strips along the lines. Fold the beard pieces accordion-style end to end. On the card stock draw a big circle for the face, and let your little one cut it out by themselves, but then help them cut out two eye holes. Glue the hat and then the beard pieces to the face. Use your marker to draw a mouth, and a buckle on the hat. Glue the popsicle stick to the back, and you are done.
My kids had a lot of fun creating and learning about St. Patrick’s Day. Tomorrow I will have a fun and inexpensive craft to celebrate this holiday in your bath or shower.
