Ground Hog Crafting Fun
To celebrate Ground Hog Day we made a paper plate ground hog craft it is simple, easy, and everyone in the family can join in and have fun.
Materials Needed:
- Three paper plates
- 2 white pom poms
- Paint: black, tan, and brown
- Glue
- Brown or black pen
- Two Paint Brushes
- Scissors
Directions:
- Take your first plate and pour some of the darker brown paint over the plate. Take one of your paint brushes and completely paint that plate brown. This will be the face of the ground hog.
- The second plate paint the center part black this will be used to cut out the nose of the ground hog.
- The third plate take both the tan and the darker brown and mix the paints together painting the center part of this plate too. This will be the mouth area of the ground hog.
- Crafting Tip: If on a time crunch you can use your blow dryer to dry the painted plates faster (that is what I did)
- Take your pen and draw the shape of the heart on the second plate that is the two shades of brown mixed together.
- Next cut out the shape of the heart and glue the point of the heart facing up instead of down like you usually see a heart. Then glue this down on your brown painted paper plate that is the face of the ground hog.
- With black paint use your other paint brush and make two or three whiskers for your ground hog.
- When this is done cut out a shape of choice for your ground hog’s nose. Then glue it where the top point of the heart is over the whisker area.
- Take your glue and the two white pom poms and glue those down as eyes. Then take your black paint and make little black dots and press down with your finger to make the eye ball area.
- With one of the leftover plates take your scissors and cut two white teeth gluing them under the bottom part of the heart.
See this paper plate ground hog craft is pretty simple. It is easy and who knows maybe your ground hog will see it’s shadow?
